Double Your Money by Contributing to ArtQuest's Matching Grant!

We are very excited to announce that Friends of ArtQuest has been awarded a matching grant of $30,000 from the Community Foundation of Mendocino County! As part of this grant, we are asking for your support to match these funds. Any amount you donate will be matched dollar-for-dollar and all money raised will directly benefit ArtQuest students!

Every year, Friends of ArtQuest hosts a gala fundraising event to support the award-winning ArtQuest program at Santa Rosa High School. Just as we began planning this year’s event, the Tubbs Fire destroyed Paradise Ridge Winery, which is owned by an ArtQuest family who graciously offered to host our event. Although we are heartbroken at the loss, we are comforted to know that plans are already being made to rebuild Paradise Ridge Winery. We look forward to returning in the coming years, but have decided not to host a social/fundraising event while our community continues to recover. Instead, we are asking for matching donations that will go a long way toward offsetting the financial loss of this fundraiser and helping Friends of ArtQuest to fund things like:
  • “Back to ArtQuest” Fall Picnic – free to all ArtQuest families.
  • $300 for eachArtQuest teacher to help purchase classroom supplies.
  • Field trips and bus charters.
  • Costumes and props.
  • Computers, cameras, sound systems and electronic equipment.
  • Audio/visual and lighting equipment.
  • ArtQuest faculty, staff and student appreciation events.
  • Refreshments at the Fall and Spring Showcases.
  • Sparks Awards, which allow ArtQuest students to pursue their artistic interests beyond Santa Rosa High School.

This year, Friends of ArtQuest also made an additional $5,000 contribution to Santa Rosa High School Foundation’s Fire Relief Fund that directly benefited SRHS students affected by the fires.

Please use the button below for your donation, and thank you for your support.

Thank You Mica Jennings!

3/5/2018

Huge THANK YOU to Mica Jennings, a local West End artist and ArtQuest alumna who showed her work at Santa Rosa City Hall and raised $550 for ArtQuest!

Through the high-contrast medium of acrylic on velvet, Mica Jennings creates stark animal images with a focus on texture. The subject is represented as a collection of light and dark, fine and coarse, smooth and sharp. The sum of the isolated structures is an animal that is wild, still, sometimes grotesque, yet exactly the creature that it needs to be. In a time when humans unquestionably dominate our shared home, attention is called to the variety of beauty that is ours to protect, and the purity that exists in the hearts of all beasts.

Check out her amazing work be clicking below.

Let Your Voice be Heard! Participate in the Santa Rosa City Schools LCAP Survey.

Santa Rosa City Schools is conducting a survey to identify successes and areas where improvements can be made. Please participate in this survey and let you voice be heard.

Called the LCAP survey, parents, students, staff and the community are encouraged to respond and let your voices be heard. The survey will be used to set priorities for the school budget, so be sure to promote ArtQuest and funding for the arts.
If you have already shared thoughts – we encourage you to go back into the survey and star new thoughts that have been added.
About this process:
  • You can complete questions, assign more stars or discover the results at any time until the exchange ends. We recommend that you rate a minimum of 30 thoughts, but you are welcome to rate as many or as few thoughts as you would like. You do not need to rate all thoughts in the conversation.
  • If you know someone else who would like to participate, you can forward this invitation.
